OUR LOCATION

We are located in La Fortuna de San Carlos. ARENAL VOLCANO TOWN.

How to find us if you take the public bus: When you get off of the bus you will see MEGA SUPER next to you. Walk past mega super and take the first right. Walk 1 block and you will be on the main road. Take a left and walk 4 blocks (towards the volcano). We are located on the right hand side, next to Hotel Sierra Arenal.

Driving: Once you are in the center of town, you will see La Fortuna church. We are located 5 blocks South West (towards the volcano). We are located on the right hand side next to Hotel Sierra Arenal.

BE AWARE: There are a few places in town that pretend to be Arenal Backpackers Resort by using similar names. Please be aware.

Comments about us and our location:

This place is phenomenal. The food at the restaurant is delicious and not badly priced. I always worry about the bathroom situation in dorm rooms but not only do the rooms have big bathrooms with hot showers there are 5 individual toilets for anyone to use. They will book all your tours for you and don't care I'd you want to book through. Plus there is a great area to hang out. Without a doubt stay here. Oh and I am a mid 20s female solo traveler!

Arenal Backpackers had great security, really nice pool and bar area, and clean bathrooms and showers. Staff was very helpful in arranging things for you and making sure everything was correct with times and prices. Great location in the town of La Fortuna right by bars, restaurants and shops

Totally great place. Staff is always cleaning. Front desk readily answers questions and security is always present. The tents are must stay in...unique experience. Walking distance from town center.

Friendly staff, enclosed/safe grounds, mature trees and foliage. We had our own room with 2 full size beds, a bathroom and TV (pretty much like a standard Super 8 or Best Western-type regular room in the U.S.). It was great, and economical at $55/night.
